Article from Algebra Nation Newsletter:
We are excited to announce Sara Flowers as our Spotlight Teacher of the Month for October! Each month, we recognize teachers like you who foster a community of growth and learning for students and teachers throughout Mississippi.

Sara teaches Algebra 1 at Center Hill High School in Desoto County School District. Although her district has only been using Algebra Nation for a short time, she said the feedback from parents has been spectacular. "Many parents are watching the videos themselves, and that allows them to help their students at home. It's just as you said... free tutors right in your home!"

Sara uses Algebra Nation in many different ways. Sometimes she shows a video for the whole group as an opener to a lesson, or to launch discussions about different problem solving strategies, or to show different approaches to solutions. Students also watch the Study Experts in small groups or individually to reinforce previous lessons. As for the Algebra Wall, Sara has a bonus point system for Karma Points earned. She added, "that has been an exciting addition to our class dynamic!"

Thank you, Sara, for your enthusiasm in launching Algebra Nation in your school and your community! As our Spotlight Teacher of the Month, she received an Amazon gift card to purchase supplies for her classroom. How do you use Algebra Nation with your students? Post your ideas and strategies on the Teacher Wall for your chance to be win next month's Algebra Nation Spotlight Teacher award!
