Senior Year Overview

August – Senior Football Jerseys – Cost $30 - $40 – Many seniors like to purchase a jersey to wear as a class to pep rallies, games, etc.  These are available for purchase in the next week or two.  An announcement will be made when order forms are available.  These will be purchased through the class sponsors, Ms. Garrigan, in room A-12 and Mr. Nichols in room C-10.

Deadline mid-late October - Senior Yearbook Photos – Cost depends on what you purchase - Photos must be taken at Holland Studios in order to be included in yearbook.  If you haven’t scheduled your pictures yet, please call soon.  The schedule will get really full in the fall as deadlines approach.  Students were given a brochure with information in the spring of their Junior year.  The number to call is 901-362-1818.  Don’t forget to take your casual pics with Holland if you want them included in the yearbook.  There is a $10 fee to be paid to the yearbook, and your picture must have been taken at Holland Studio.

Yearbooks – Yearbooks will be on sale throughout much of the school year.  The price goes up as the year progresses.

October – November – Class of 2018 Photos – Cost - $30 or $40 – We will take a class portrait during 1st block, on the football field (serious and silly) and a group photo arranged in the shape of a “18”.  There are multiple picture packages available.  Photos are purchased the day after photos are taken, and they are mailed out within a few weeks.

November – Graduation Supplies – Cost- TBD – In November, our representatives from Graduate Services will be here to take your orders for caps & gowns, invitations, and other graduate supplies.  The initial presentation will be at school in November.  At that time, students will receive a packet of materials, including a catalogue and order forms.  Orders will be taken during all four lunches a few days after.  They typically ask for an initial deposit of $80.  All students must rent a cap & gown (students get to keep their cap and stole after the ceremony).  Depending upon what you order, your total cost can run anywhere from $100 - $400.  There are options available to pay monthly if you are interested.

January – April

Graduate Services will be here a few times to take payments in person.  Students can provide their phone numbers in the fall and the company will send out reminders about when they are coming.

Senior Yearbook Ads – During spring semester, the yearbook sells ad space to parents of seniors.  Packets will be available from all yearbook staff members and from senior sponsors.  Ads typically cost approximately $80 - $150, with a 50% deposit due in February.  The yearbook sponsor is Mrs. Mandy Shackelford.  She can be reached via email at

April – Prom – Cost – TBD – School is not hosting Prom this year

May – Senior May Day – Cost $10-$15 – This is our senior fun day at the end of school, just prior to exams.  Participation is not mandatory, but it is encouraged.

May – Graduation Breakfast – Cost TBD– All seniors and their immediate families are invited to attend.  This is a formal breakfast at the Landers’ Center, served prior to our graduation practice.  During the breakfast we will have a speaker, and we will show the senior slide show.

Side Note on Breakfast – I would love to be able to pay for all of the seniors to attend the breakfast, but this depends on the fund raising efforts of our class officers.  If any parent works for a company that would donate, or would like to make a personal donation to help us achieve this, please contact the class sponsor via email at

May – Graduation – Holland Studios will be present during the ceremony taking pictures of each graduate as he/she receives a diploma, and as they walk back to their seats.  These photos are completely optional.  Holland Studios will provide us with ordering information the week of graduation.

Seniors will also typically sell 2-3 t-shirts throughout the school year.  These typically cost approximately $15.
